The project to support the processing and valorization of local milk in the Kankan prefecture in Upper Guinea provided beneficiaries with a system of solar panels to make the group self-sufficient in energy.
They received a tricycle, a cooler and dozens of bottles. Producers of milk, yoghurt and cheese will be able to keep their products in good conditions.
The objective of improving the system for processing, preserving and marketing local dairy products is achieved. The members of the group have assimilated the manufacturing techniques of dairy products and remain motivated.
Launched on December 10, 2016, the project supports the Milk Transformation Group “Hadja Adama”, project leader. The production capacity will increase from 60 to 80 liters per day with support from the Rio Tinto Foundation to the tune of 28 000 US dollars.
